Our Story
In 1976, we opened a small studio on the second floor above Books Plus at the corner of Washington and Vine Street in Greencastle, Indiana. It was a large single room with a tiny closet and a sink with only cold water. I made it a darkroom for developing and printing black-and-white film. We paid a major amount of money for the rent of $30 per month. This included the heat and water we had our lights and phone service to pay for. I used hot photo floodlights, and I remember one of our first couple sessions for their 50th Wedding Anniversary Portrait. The background light caught the fake fur that draped our piano bench to start smoking, and I thought I didn't need any special effects on this session. They were cool with it, and I sold a dozen 5x7s to them. It's funny how you can remember something like that after all these years. Judy & I invite you to review what we are selling off.
We have sold our CocoCola peddle car with a trailer and working cooler. In 1991, we purchased the building where we had started our business in that second-floor single-room studio. A couple of years later, we made over the second floor into our upstairs loft, which has 3,600 sq. ft. of living area. We Lived there till the fire happened in the block where our building is located in May of 2013. Life just wasn't the same after that for myself and my family. But we still had each other, and we moved forward. The industry changed, and we grew older, which meant it was time to close the photography business. So, hopefully, selling our equipment will help with retirement somewhat, but we need to get ready to sell this building at 24 & 26 E Washington St, in Greencastle, Indiana. Hey, we would be pleased to sell the building and all of the business side of the equipment to keep the service and products to a new generation of younger blood. The second floor is a clean canvas for a build-out of nice high-end apartments to make the business operate without you having to pay the high rent for your business that is happening everywhere for commercial locations.

There is no special order on the frames and mats with this discount. Some frames come with glass, but many are custom and don't have glass. We can cut what you want for an additional charge according to the size needed.
